Rotary Dryer

This plant, designed and supplied by Coppex in cooperation with Kopar (Finland), has a normal drying capacity of 160 T/hr and up to 200 T/hr (dry base) of copper concentrate from a 9 - 10% moisture content down to 0.2%.

This plant has the biggest drying capacity for copper concentrates in operations in Chile.

It includes a rotary dryer 4 m diameter and 44 m long, with heating chamber and VSD driving system. The hot gases are sent to a bag filter and then to the atmosphere with a dust content in compliance with local environmental regulation. The dryed concentrate is transported pneumatically to storage bins for feeding the smelting reactor.
